So it’s halfway through the year. Time went by so fast. My business is officially 8 months today! Looking back, I’ve worked my ass off and have learned so much about this business. Although wishing I’d gone to fashion school, I feel like what I’m doing now is the path I’m supposed to be going down. Everything is falling into place and God has literally sent the most amazing people in my life that I would have never seen myself even meeting.
For several years, I prayed that God bless me with my dream job. I prayed for this but not knowing what I wanted my dream job to be. I can truly say that the empire that I am building is the dream job that God dreamt for me. I really wish that I could show you all everything that has happened from April 2013 until now. To think that I’ve ONLY been sewing for 2 years and now own my clothing line that is already in a couple stores within the first year of my collection launching blows my mind. I seriously cannot fathom all of this. I really wish I could take you all down memory lane to see all of the people that I’ve met that volunteered to help me because they believed in me and my brand. These people aren’t just some airheads off the street either. These are some extremely smart people who I still cannot believe they were sent my way. God truly works in mysterious ways. It makes me tear up just looking back at all that has happened and the things I know the future holds. The project that I am working on now behind the scenes literally blows my mind. I cannot even believe that I’m even in the position to be doing it. God is good. He is good to me. If you want something bad enough, put in the work. I hate reading, but I read about the business because I want to be successful. I’m an introvert and hate being around a lot of people, but God has literally pushed me out there and I’ve have the most extraordinary people. I hate public speaking, but with this business, that totally goes out the window. It’s all or nothing. When you have to talk about yourself as a designer and talk about your collection, you have one shot. It’s all God though. God made all of this possible. I give him all of the glory and all of the praise.

Ok, so while in Savannah, I wanted to present a fresh and clean look that was easy to pull off and somewhat easy to wear since I had both my children. Mind you, I said somewhat because I chose to wear white and you know if you have children, it’s hard to keep clean when chasing them around. The lipstick that I used was the perfect accessory to my overall look. It gave my look a bit of a retro feel so I really liked that. I’m really into bright lips this season can you tell?
The lipstick that I used was the perfect accessory to my overall look. It gave my look a bit of a retro feel that I really liked. It has a matte finish and it is quite drying, but if you moisturize your lips prior to putting it on, you’ll be fine. And the best part is, it lasts all day. It’s actually kind of hard to clean off. I’m really into bright lips this season can you tell?

So every other month or so my husband and I take a trip to DC to visit our best friends. Every time we go, we always have the best time. For this particular trip, we wanted to basically relax and get our minds off of the stresses in our busy lives. So what did I wear? Remember, when I’m outside of my blogger mindset, I incorporate black in every outfit. I either wear black from head to toe or I will incorporate it into what I’m wearing. Now that I think about it, I do sprinkle a few black pieces here on my blog but not as much as I usually wear it in real life. (I’ll go into detail with why I wear color on my blog but not as much in real life at a later time.) Because we were doing a lot of walking, I decided that I was going to be as comfortable as possible. I decided that I was going to play up my makeup as my fashion statement in my outfits.

So I started using a new foundation and my skin has improved 110%! I used to have small bumps all over my face (irritation from several different foundations) and dry patches (eczema) on my cheeks. I’ll do a separate post on that though. I filmed a “Get Ready with Me” so that will be posted soon.

So while in DC, my fellow Pretty Girls Sew co-founder told me she was going to be in the same location I was (the National Harbor) so we decided that we were going to meet for the first time. I was beyond excited!!! It was like meeting your long lost sister who you were separated from at birth. I could have hugged her all day! I’m so happy to have met you Ye.
I went on the brand new Ferris Wheel. I’m extremely terrified of heights and I never usually get on any rides. I only got on this thing for my husband. LOL! I will never do it again. Thanks for stopping by!
