Fall Jewel Tones

This weekend, my BFF and I went to the Virginia Fashion week’s main event.  We had a ton of fun. We even vlogged about the event which I will be posting on my YouTube channel soon.  Last year we went to VA Fashion week and purchased our outfits. This year we decided to go all out and sew our outfits.

So, this is my BFF, Asia. She just started sewing about 2 months ago.  I went with her to purchase her first sewing machine and we brought it home and I taught her the basics of sewing. If you need those sewing tips/lessons, check out my YouTube channel

.  You can tell that she has been practicing because her DIY High-Waist Pallazzo pants came out great.  The pattern that she chose was Burda’s 7195.  She did change the waistband and made it wider for a more “High-waist” effect.

vafw1vafw4If you ever get the chance to go to a fashion show, GO! Go with your girlfriends.  You’ll have an amazing time and it’s so interesting to see the designer’s outlook on what they feel fashion should look like.
I will be posting highlights of the Virginia show in the next post. Until then, thanks for stopping by!  Share this post to inspire those that are beginners at sewing.
XOXOXO

  1. Hi I made this same pattern this week for bachlorette party and wanted to know did you add a zipper. I left out the elastic and it seemed a bit tight to get into. Never the less I loved it and so glad I finally made something that I can actuially wear. You are a big inspration.

    • Hi Leslie! I used a Sateen Bottom Weight fabric found at JoAnn fabrics in the “bottom weight section.” I need to remember to post information about my fabric that I chose huh? I always forget. When choosing fabrics, I’ll show you how easy it is….look on the back of the pattern and you’ll see “Suggested Fabrics…” Since you are just starting, just choose one of the ones listed until you get familiar with sewing. Thanks for commenting and stopping by.
